NMDC Board Update: Vishwanath Suresh Appointed CMD of MOIL; Board Composition Revised

NMDC Limited, one of India’s leading mining and natural resources companies, has announced a significant change in its board of directors. Shri Vishwanath Suresh, who was serving as Director (Commercial) at NMDC, has been appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of MOIL Limited by the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, effective from 7 January 2026.

Following this appointment, Shri Vishwanath Suresh has been relieved from his role at NMDC and has ceased to be a director on the company’s board.

The updated board composition of NMDC Limited is as follows:

Functional Directors:

• Shri Amitava Mukherjee – Chairman & Managing Director

• Shri Vinay Kumar – Director (Technical)

• Shri Joydeep Dasgupta – Director (Production)

• Smt. Priyadarshini Gaddam – Director (Personnel) & Director (Finance) additional charge

Government Nominee Directors:

• Shri Ashish Chatterjee – Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Steel

• Shri Abhijit Narendra – Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel

 

Independent Directors:

• Shri Sanjay Tandon

• Shri Bharat Baburao Patil

• Shri Mahendra Singh Rao

• Shri Achal Kumar Sinha

The company emphasized that this change is in line with corporate governance norms and SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, ensuring transparency and effective management oversight.
