NMDC Ltd shows light-up of Indurating Machine at 2 MTPA Pellet Plant, Nagarnar

Chhattisgarh, 29 August: Government-owned NMDC Ltd. has shared some glimpses of the successful light-up of the Indurating Machine at the 2 MTPA Pellet Plant, Nagarnar. The light-up was done by Shri Vinay Kumar, Director (Technical) NMDC, and Shri Vivek Nishant Nath, Director (Commercial), on 28.08.26.

The Straight Grate Indurating Machine installed at the Nagarnar Pellet Plant is based on technology provided by Metso Outotec–SMS Group and is being executed by M/s. Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T).

The Indurating Machine is the heart of the pelletization process, where green iron ore pellets are subjected to controlled drying, preheating, induration, and cooling to produce high-strength, metallurgically suitable iron ore pellets.

The successful commencement of dry-out of the Indurating Machine is a major milestone towards the commissioning of the Pellet Plant and therefore shows a strong commitment towards serving the nation.
