Guwahati, June 2, 2026: Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) has signed a long-term sulphur offtake agreement with Teesta Agro Industries Limited, marking another significant step in strengthening its post-expansion product marketing framework and ensuring sustained demand for sulphur output.

Under the agreement signed on June 2, 2026, Teesta Agro Industries, based in Rajganj, Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal, will procure sulphur from NRL for use as a key raw material in fertilizer manufacturing.

 

15,000 MT Annual Sulphur Supply Commitment

As part of the arrangement, NRL will allocate up to 15,000 metric tonnes of lump-form sulphur annually to Teesta Agro. The agreement has been structured as a long-term commercial partnership with an initial tenure of 10 years, extendable by an additional two years based on performance and mutual satisfaction.

The deal provides NRL with a reliable industrial buyer for its sulphur production while ensuring a stable supply of raw material for fertilizer manufacturing.

Second Major Sulphur Marketing Deal in Weeks

The latest agreement comes shortly after NRL signed a sulphur sale pact with Progressive Fertichem Private Limited on May 18, 2026, highlighting the refinery's proactive efforts to establish a robust customer base for products generated from its expanded refining capacity.

With back-to-back offtake agreements, NRL is steadily building a diversified network of industrial consumers, reducing marketing risks and ensuring smooth product evacuation.
