NTPC Group Capacity Reaches 85,181 MW as THDC Commissions Tehri PSP Unit III
THDC India Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC, has declared COD for the 250 MW Unit III of Tehri Pumped Storage Plant effective 12 December 2025, raising NTPC Group’s total installed capacity to 85,181 MW.

New Delhi, December 11, 2025: NTPC Limited has notified the stock exchanges that its subsidiary, THDC India Limited, has declared Commercial Operation Date (COD) for Unit III (250 MW) of the Tehri Pumped Storage Plant (Tehri PSP – 4x250 MW).
The unit achieved COD with effect from 00:00 hours on December 12, 2025, following successful commissioning and requisite statutory approvals.
With the commissioning of this unit:

THDC India Limited’s installed and commercial capacity has increased to 3,657 MW.

The overall installed and commercial capacity of the NTPC Group has risen to 85,181 MW.
NTPC submitted the disclosure under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, while THDC filed its parallel disclosure under Regulation 51(1) of the LODR framework.
Both companies have requested the exchanges to take the information on record.
