NTPC Kaniha Installs and Commissions 10 KWP Solar Power Plant to Enhance Sustainable Energy Supply for Local Communities

In a significant move towards creating sustainability community ,NTPC Kaniha has successfully installed and commissioned a 10 KWP (Kilowatt Peak) Solar Power Plant at Surungi Ashram in Kaniha Block under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. This solar power initiative is in line with NTPC’s ongoing efforts to promote usage of renewable energy . This green initiative will provide a reliable and sustainable source of energy, helping to reduce dependency on conventional power sources.

New Delhi: In a significant move towards creating sustainability community ,NTPC Kaniha has successfully installed and commissioned a 10 KWP (Kilowatt Peak) Solar Power Plant at Surungi Ashram in Kaniha Block under its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. The inaugural ceremony took place on 6th March 2025 and was marked by the presence of several esteemed dignitaries. The event was graced by Shri Braja Kishore Pradhan, Hon’ble MLA Talcher, along with Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Executive Director, NTPC Kaniha. Also present were Shri Navneet Kumar, Head of HR, Shri M Panigrahi, AGM EMD, Shri Suresh Chandra Behera, Additional General Manager (AHD), and other distinguished officials from NTPC, along with local community leaders including the Sarpanch of Kamarei Gram Panchayat and villagers from the surrounding areas.

In his address, Shri Braja Kishore Pradhan emphasized the importance of sustainable energy solutions in improving the lives of people in the region. He commended NTPC Kaniha for its commitment to both environmental and socio-economic well-being through this renewable energy initiatives.

Speaking on the occassion, Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Executive Director, NTPC Kaniha highlighted NTPC’s ongoing and future green initiatves , supporting Govt of India’s commitment toward building a greener tommorrow.  "
