Chennai: NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited (NTECL) has invited bids through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) for the supply of Lighting Panels for its Vallur Thermal Power Project in Tamil Nadu.

The bid, bearing Bid Number GEM/2025/B/6982060, was published on December 13, 2025, by the Contracts and Materials Department under the Ministry of Power. The procurement is for 50 numbers of Lighting Panels (415V, 63A, 18-Way, LP-1).

Key Bid Details

The bid submission deadline is January 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM, while the bid opening is scheduled for the same day at 11:30 AM. The bid validity period is 90 days from the closing date.

The procurement follows a two-packet bid system with evaluation based on total value. No EMD or e-Performance Bank Guarantee (ePBG) is required for this bid.

 

Make in India and MSE Preference

The bid is reserved for Make in India products, allowing participation from Class-1 local suppliers with a minimum of 50% local content. Preference is also available for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) with valid Udyam registration.

MSE suppliers quoting within L1 + 15% will be eligible for purchase preference for up to 25% of the total quantity, subject to matching the L1 price.

Delivery and Location

The materials are to be delivered within 60 days to the Vallur Thermal Power Project, located in Thiruvallur district, Chennai.

Other Conditions

The buyer has retained the option to increase or decrease the ordered quantity by up to 25% during contract execution. The bid also complies with GeM’s general terms, labour law requirements, and public procurement policies.

This procurement aims to support domestic manufacturing while ensuring timely availability of critical electrical equipment for NTPC’s power operations.
