Odisha Mining Corporation's Dubna Mines Commences Despatch Operations
BHUBANESWAR – The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has announced that its Dubna Mines, located in the Keonjhar district, commenced despatch operations in July 2025. This milestone is a crucial step for the corporation, enhancing its operational capacity and strengthening its supply chain to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of iron ore.
The commencement of despatch operations follows the recent resumption of mining activities at Dubna. The mines, which were inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi in May 2025, are a significant addition to OMC's portfolio, with an estimated annual production capacity of 3 million tonnes of iron ore and 0.05 million tonnes of manganese. The total reserves at the site are projected to be 25.77 million tonnes of iron ore and 2.6 million tonnes of manganese.

This development is part of OMC's broader strategy to expand its operational footprint and meet the growing demand for minerals. The seamless integration of the Dubna Mines into OMC's supply chain is expected to have a positive impact on the state's industrial sector. By strengthening its delivery network, OMC is positioned to better serve its customers and contribute to Odisha's economic growth.
The corporation is also focusing on sustainable mining practices and value addition to minerals, as highlighted by the Chief Minister during the mine's inauguration. This includes plans for a proposed pellet plant, for which a techno-economic feasibility report is being prepared.
