POWERGRID Subsidiary Commissions Khavda II-C Transmission Project
Mumbai, February 2, 2026: POWERGRID Khavda II-C Transmission Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), has successfully commissioned its latest transmission project, the “Transmission scheme for evacuation of 4.5GW RE injection at Khavda PS under Phase-II, Part C.”
The project, awarded through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB), has commenced commercial operations effective January 31, 2026, with the Date of Commercial Operation (DOCO) officially notified on February 2, 2026.
This transmission scheme is designed to evacuate 4.5 gigawatts of renewable energy (RE) from Khavda Power Station, reinforcing India’s power grid infrastructure and supporting the integration of large-scale renewable energy into the national network.
