New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd on Tuesday informed stock exchanges that the ₹262.14 crore Smart Classroom project in Bihar, awarded by the Bihar Education Project Council (BEPC), has been cancelled by the customer due to unavoidable reasons.

The company said it had earlier, on September 8, 2025, received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from the State Project Director, BEPC, for the procurement, supply and installation of Smart Classrooms at government middle schools across Bihar. The estimated size of the order, as per the LoA, was ₹2,62,14,38,750.

The company did not disclose the financial impact of the cancellation, but such a large order cancellation may have a short-term impact on RailTel’s order book and revenue visibility.

RailTel continues to expand its presence in digital infrastructure, IT services, data centres, cloud solutions and smart city projects, which remain key growth drivers for the PSU.
