Railway Board Sanctions Deputation of Shri Girishkumar C Solanki to Gujarat Metro

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Railways (Railway Board) has formally communicated the sanction for the deputation of Shri Girishkumar C Solanki, an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), to the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Ltd.

Shri Solanki, who previously served as CEE/Op at South East Central Railway (SECR), Bilaspur, will take over the critical portfolio of General Manager (Rolling Stock) at GMRC.

• Tenure: The period of deputation is effective from November 3, 2025 (AN) and will continue until his superannuation on September 30, 2028, or until further orders.

• Pay & Allowances: The officer will receive his parent railway pay plus a Deputation (Duty) Allowance, as per the prevailing guidelines from the Ministry of Personnel, PG & Pensions (DoPT).

• Service Integration: For administrative purposes related to Travelling Allowance, Medical Facilities, and Retirement Benefits, the Pr.FA of South East Central Railway will remain the concerned authority.

Compliance and Repatriation

The Railway Board has included strict clauses regarding the officer’s eventual return to the parent cadre:

• Resignation Clause: If the officer fails to return to the Railways within one month of the completion of his tenure, it will be deemed a formal resignation from Railway service.

• Vigilance Clearance: Upon repatriation, GMRC is required to provide a vigilance clearance for the entire duration of the deputation to the Railway Board.
