THDC CMD highlights India, Nepal ties as Nepal delegates visits Tehri Dam
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal, Shri Kamal Bahadur Shah, along with cabinet ministers, members of the Legislative Assembly, and senior officials, visited the iconic Tehri Dam to gain first-hand insights into one of India’s Premier Hydroelectric projects.

New Delhi: Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal, Shri Kamal Bahadur Shah, along with cabinet ministers, members of the Legislative Assembly, and senior officials, visited the iconic Tehri Dam to gain first-hand insights into one of India’s Premier Hydroelectric projects.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Shri L.P. Joshi, Executive Director (Tehri Complex), THDC India Limited followed by a comprehensive briefing on the construction, rehabilitation, and operational excellence of the Tehri Dam.

Hon’ble Chief Minister, accompanied by other dignitaries, visited the Tehri Dam viewpoint and the underground powerhouse were apprised of the technical details of the project, power generation capacity, and ongoing developments under the India’s first Variable Speed 1000 MW Pumped Storage Plant (PSP).
Shri R.K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDC India Limited, highlighting the deepening ties and shared aspirations between India and Nepal in the realm of clean and sustainable energy development remarked that it was a great honour and privilege for THDCIL to host the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Sudurpashchim Province, Nepal, along with his esteemed delegation, at the Tehri Dam.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister lauded the engineering marvel of the Tehri Dam, praising its robust design, sustainable power generation, and the contribution of THDCIL in shaping energy security. He termed it “a true symbol of engineering excellence” and extended appreciation to the engineers, workers, and management for their dedication.
