CBI Arrests Northern Railways Engineer and Trackman in 34000 Rupees Bribery Case
New Delhi. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Divisional Engineer of Northern Railways in Chandausi, Sambhal, UP, and his subordinate, a Trackman. They are accused of demanding and accepting a bribe of ?34,000 from a railway contractor.

These bills are related to a railway awarded by the Moradabad Division on January 19, 2024. The complainant, who runs a private firm, reported the allegation to the CBI.
The CBI acted quickly. They registered a case on July 4, 2025, and set up a trap. Both accused were caught red-handed while accepting the bribe late that night. After questioning, they were formally arrested on the morning of July 5, 2025.
The accused are set to appear before track fitting contract awarded by the Moradabad Division on January 19, 2024. The complainant, who runs a private firm, reported the allegation to the CBI.
