Central Railway Achieves Rs.243.06 Crore Revenue from Sale of Scrap in FY 2025-26

Central Railway has generated impressive revenue of Rs.243.06 crore from scrap sales during the financial year 2025-26 (up to October 2025). The revenue for October 2025 alone hit Rs.51.86 crore, which is a 79% increase from Rs.28.93 crore in October 2024. This marks the best October performance in the last three years.  

Scrap was sold across all five divisions, workshops, and field units of Central Railway. This included rails, ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, rolling stock, coaches, and wagons. This achievement shows the railway’s ongoing commitment to the “Zero Scrap Mission” and improved efficiency in scrap disposal.  

Central Railway also ranks first among zones, leading in 10 out of 22 performance parameters. This reflects its overall operational excellence.
