New Delhi: Central Railway has announced temporary restrictions on the sale of platform tickets across 13 major stations from 05 to 07 December 2025 to manage the expected surge of passengers travelling for Mahaparinirvan Diwas. The step has been taken to ensure smooth and safe passenger movement within station premises.

According to the press release, platform ticket sales at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Dadar stations in the Mumbai Division will remain suspended from 05 to 07 December. Stations under the Bhusaval Division — including Bhusaval, Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Akola, Shegaon, Pachora, Badnera, Malkapur and Chalisgaon — will implement restrictions on 05 and 06 December. Nagpur station in the Nagpur Division will also enforce similar curbs on the same dates.

 

The railway authority has clarified that certain groups are exempt from the restrictions. These include aged persons, senior citizens, children, women passengers requiring assistance, illiterate individuals and those accompanying ailing persons.

Passengers have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the temporary guidelines to ensure orderly movement and enhanced safety at stations.
