Central Railway to Operate 76 Winter Special Trains for Christmas and New Year Rush

New Delhi: Central Railway has announced the operation of 76 Winter Special trains across key routes to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the Christmas, New Year, and winter holiday season. These special services will run between Mumbai–Karmali, Nagpur, Mangaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Pune–Nagpur, Amravati, Sanganer, ensuring smoother travel for thousands of commuters.
The schedule includes 36 daily services between CSMT–Karmali–CSMT, 8 weekly services each on LTT–Thiruvananthapuram and LTT–Mangaluru routes, and 6 weekly services each on CSMT–Nagpur, Pune–Nagpur, Pune–Sanganer, and Pune–Amravati sectors. The trains feature a combination of AC, Sleeper, and General coaches to meet diverse travel needs.
Bookings for several special trains are already open at all computerized reservation centres and through IRCTC’s official website. Passengers can also book unreserved tickets via the UTS mobile app at regular superfast fare rates. Central Railway has advised passengers to check detailed timings and halts on the Indian Railways Enquiry portal or the NTES App for up-to-date information.
The initiative aims to provide seamless travel during one of the busiest periods of the year and reflects Central Railway’s commitment to ensuring comfort and connectivity for holiday travellers.
