Indian Railways has announced that it will run special train services to ease the smooth travel of devotees visiting Sri Anandpur Sahib during the commemoration of the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Indian Railways to soon run special trains for Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

Indian Railways has announced that it will run special train services to ease the smooth travel of devotees visiting Sri Anandpur Sahib during the commemoration of the Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the initiative honours the legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, revered as Hind Di Chadar for his sacrifice in defending religious freedom, truth and human dignity. The special services will ensure safe, comfortable and seamless travel for the large number of pilgrims expected to visit the holy town.
 

Special Train Services from November 22

The Railways are going to launch two dedicated train services – one from Patna Sahib and another from Old Delhi.

1. Old Delhi AC Special Train (All AC)

A daily AC special service will run from Old Delhi at 07:00 hrs on 22, 23, 24, and 25 November, reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib at 13:45 hrs the same day. Return services will depart at 20:30 hrs, arriving in Delhi at 03:15 hrs the next morning. The train will stop at Sonipat, Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Sirhind, and New Morinda.

Patna Sahib Special Trains ( All classes)

A special train of 22-coach will depart from Patna on 23 November at 06:40 hrs, arriving at Sri Anandpur Sahib at 04:15 hrs on 24 November. The return journey will begin from Sri Anandpur Sahib on 25 November at 21:00 hrs, reaching Old Delhi at 23:30 hrs. The train will halt at Lucknow, Moradabad, and Ambala.

The special services reflect the Railways’ commitment in providing accessible and reliable transportation during significant religious observance. Further, it is honoured to support pilgrims paying tribute to Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life and teachings.

Indian Railways has advised passengers to plan their travel accordingly and make use of the special trains for a smooth and hassle-free journey.
