Railway Sector unit, IRCON has reached a significant milestone in its Mission of 100% Electrification with the successful completion of the Electric Loco Trial between New Cooch Behar Junction and Bamanhat on January 31, 2025.
This 50 Route KM (56 Track KM) trial in the Alipurduar Division of North East Frontier Railway was conducted at the maximum sectional speed. This achievement will enhance operational efficiency, allowing trains to operate on 25kV electric traction. Overall, this initiative aims to create a sustainable and eco-friendly railway infrastructure that will significantly reduce carbon emissions.
