Cabinet Greenlights 4-Lane NH-752D Corridor in Madhya Pradesh – Travel Time Cut by 1 Hour

New Delhi, March 10, 2026: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the construction of a 4-lane highway corridor along the Badnawar-Petlawad-Thandla-Timarwani section of NH-752D, spanning 80.45 km, at an estimated cost of ₹3,839.42 crore on Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM).

The project will complete direct 4-lane connectivity from Ujjain to Timarwani interchange on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway (DME), improving travel efficiency and reducing travel time by approximately one hour. The Ujjain–Badnawar section (70.40 km) has already been upgraded from 2-lane to 4-lane, while the Badnawar–Timarwani stretch currently suffers from poor geometry and low-speed travel (20-50 kmph). The upgraded highway will enable speeds of 80-100 kmph.

The corridor serves as the shortest route from Gujarat and Maharashtra to Ujjain, strengthening inter-state connectivity, easing traffic surges during events like the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2028, and facilitating efficient movement of goods to industrial hubs in Indore, Pithampur, Ujjain, and Dewas.

The project traverses the tribal regions of Dhar and Jhabua districts, part of NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Blocks Programme, and is expected to bolster regional infrastructure, economic development, and logistics efficiency.
