New Delhi: National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that it has received a stunning response from the bidders for the implementation of 111 km long Six-lane Access Controlled Greenfield Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass) project in Odisha.

The bids that were invited by NHAI for the construction of the project in three packages and receives encouraging participation from the bidders. The Package-I of the project has received 23 bids, Package-II with 25 bids, and Package-III has received 16 bids which has reflected robust competition along with strong interests from the participants across all packages. The bids will be most probably awarded by March 2026. The work will soon start after award of the projects and shall be completed in a time period of 2.5 years.

The Six-Lane Access Controlled Greenfield Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneshwar Bypass) project was approved by Union Cabinet and involves development of a 111-km long Ring Road from Rameshwaram to Tangi. This would be implemented under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) in three packages. The cost of the project is Rs 8,307.74 crore and around 96% of the land acquisition along with forest, wildlife, and environmental clearance has been completed for the implementation of the project.

Capital Region Ring Road (Bhubaneswar Bypass) is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and mobility by decongesting the urban areas of Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Khordha.

This accessible corridor will boost regional connectivity, lower logistics costs, generate substantial employment, and support long-term economic growth while promoting safer, faster, and more sustainable travel across the region.
