CHAIRMAN CIL FLAGS OFF BATTERY OPERATED ELECTRIC BUS
Kolkata: Shri. Sutirtha Bhattacharya, Chairman, CIL and Shri. Debasish Sen, IAS, CMD, WBHIDCO flagged off an battery operated Electric Bus and a car at CIL's Corporate Office in Kolkata.
Coal India Ltd. as a part of a new CSR initiative had signed an MoU with West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (WBHIDCO) for purchasing and operating three battery operated electric buses and one electric car. The buses are battery operated, with zero CO2 emission, air-conditioned and have WiFi. These electric buses are part of a continuous endeavor of CIL towards protecting and safeguarding the environment and maintaining an ecological balance.
