DMRC launches six-day Swachh Metro campaign
NEW DELHI The Delhi Metro today launched a six-day ‘Swachh Metro’ campaign on the second anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) said the objective of campaign is to reinforce the message of cleanliness among the public, and work towards clean and better environment at all its installations and surroundings.
The campaign was launched with all the DMRC staff on duty taking a ‘Swachh Bharat’ pledge at Metro stations and depots.
This was followed by street plays at 15 major stations including Mandi House, Rajiv Chowk, Karol Bagh, Noida City Centre, Akshardham, Central Secretariat, New Delhi and AIIMS.
A series of street plays will be organised from October 4 to 6 at 12 Metro stations for wider public awareness on cleanliness.
A DMRC official said Metro in collaboration with Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India will be organising a special cleanliness drive on October 7 at the New Delhi Metro station.
About 150 volunteers will join Metro staff in the drive and encourage everyone to keep their surroundings clean. Financial Express
