DoPE Conducts Orientation Programme on Capacity Building of Government Directors of CPSEs
New Delhi: The Department of Public Enterprises in collaboration with Power Finance Corporation, Conducts one-day orientation programme on ‘Capacity Building of Government Directors’ on 17th May 2018 at the IHC.
The first Session was taken by Dr. A.K. Rath, Ex-Secretary to GOI and Professor, International Management Institute, Bhubaneswar who discussed the role of directors in the context of Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI (LDR) regulations. He also dwelt on the issues related to corporate governance in CPSEs.
Dr. Madhukar Gupta, Additional Secretary, DoPE presented some perspectives on functioning of CSR Committee in CPSEs and highlighted issues to be considered while implementing CSR activities in CPSEs. Shri Rajesh K Choudhary, Joint Secretary, DoPE introduced the participants to important DPE guidelines relating to the management of CPSEs.
This was followed by Dr. Anup K Pujari, Ex-Secretary to GOI discussing the perspectives on Government Directors and how could they enhance their contributions in the functioning of Board. Financial Expert Dr. Ashwani Kumar Gupta took a session on the understanding of financial statements which was followed by Q&A interaction.
