Girl Child Empowerment Mission Programme Inaugurated at NTPC
Singrauli: NTPC's CSR has taken a great initiative for all-round development of Girl Child. The Girl Child Empowerment Mission (GEM) Programme was inaugurated simultaneously at Singrauli, Vindhyachal & Rihand by Shri Saptarshi Roy, Director (HR) NTPC. This CSR initiative by NTPC will see in all 392 girl children in the age group of 10-12 years who have passed class V in the last academic session from Vindhyachal, Singrauli and Rihand region are participating in this four-week residential workshop. This initiative will not only empower them to face the realities of life but also make them future – ready.
A well thought and interesting curriculum have been designed for overall development of the girls which includes Yoga, followed by Basic English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, GK and Life Science classes in addition to inputs on dance, drama and music. The programme will also have sessions like magic shows, puppet shows and other entertaining activities. The program will be held in the respective EDC's of Singrauli, Vindhyachal and Rihand.
Shri K. K Singh, RED (North) also joined the inaugural function via video conferencing from NRHQ, Lucknow. Shri MSD Bhattamishra, ED (CSR), Shri Manoj Saxena, ED (VSR), Shri A. K Tewary, GGM (Vindhyachal), Shri D. Sen, GGM (Singrauli) Shri A. K. Mukherjee, GGM (Rihand) and other senior officials also witnessed the program.
