MCL to become largest coal producer in FY 2016’
Sambalpur. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) is poised to become the largest coal producer in India during the current financial year 2015-16, company Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri A K J ha said.
At a ceremonial meeting organised here on Wednesday in the honour of his predecessor A N Sahay, who relinquished office on 31 October, 2015, after attaining his age of superannuation, Jha said, achieving the target of 150 million tonne coal production in 2015-16 will be a fitting tribute to the services rendered by Sahay.
The CMD said, the company is right on its way to achieve the 250 million tonne target set for 2020.
Director (Technical/Ops) A K Tiwari, CVO Deepak Srivastava, IFoS, Director (Personnel) P C Panigrahi, Di rector (Finance) K K Parida, J CC members of the company Mr Kishore Chandra Patel (OCMS-INTUC), K C Patra (OCMLF-HMS), Anik Chakravorty (AITUC), Ranjan Behera (TKKMS), Bijya Kumar Sethi (CMOAI) and S C Mallik (CISTEA) were prominent among a large number of officers, including CGMs, GMs of various project area, trade union representatives and employees present on the occasion.
Expressing his gratitude to all for their love and affection, Sahay said MCL is a growing energy giant with a bright future. “With several first to its kitty, MCL has become an icon in the coal industry and I would love to see this great company growing and achieving new milestones” Sahay said.
