ONGC gets one more patent for R and D in petroleum technology
NEW DELHI. The Institute of Oil and Gas Production Technology (IOGPT) – a premier R&D institute of ONGC received a patent on a very important study to enhance oil production. ONGC has been a pioneer inR&D and technology development since inception and has many patents to its credit.
This patent,the fifth by IOGPT, takes ONGC’s patent tally to 21. The study titled “Improving Solvent efficiency by doping polymer dispersant to mitigate Asphaltene precipitation” was granted patent no 273656 by the Patent office, Government of India. During oil production, Downhole
Asphaltene cleanup is a necessity for enhancing and sustaining oil production. Conventionally solvent wash is recommended for Asphaltene removal which dissolves and removes downhole Asphaltene precipitates and cleans up the organic debris.
