PGCIL, NHPC to spend Rs. 55,000crore to boost grid connectivity
NEW DELHI . Power Grid Corporation of India Limited and National Hydel Power Corporation would invest over Rs 55,000 crore to improve grid connectivity and generate more electricity from river water within the next two years.
Rs 142,000 cr would be invested by PGCIL in 2016 and 2017 and Rs 13,684 crore by NHPC during the same period, according to a recent review by the Ministry of Power of these two power sector enterprises (PSEs).
