POWERGRID bags two Prizes at SCOPE Corporate
Communication Excellence Awards 2016

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. has been awarded 2nd Prize at SCOPE Corporate Communication Excellence Awards 2016 for case study of Crisis Management in the Category of “Crisis Handling.” and 2nd Prize at Corporate Communication Excellence Awards 2016 in the Category of “Innovative Stakeholder Interface” i.e. our Skill Development initiatives under CSR.
Awards were presented during the Inaugural Session of the SCOPE Corporate Communication Summit 2016, held on 21st July, 2016 in New Delhi. Shri Atul Trivedi, ED(E&SM,CSR &LAC) , Shri Chetan Verma, GM(CC) and Naresh Kumar,Asst.GM(CC) received the award from the Chairman of SCOPE Shri Nirmal Sinha in the presence of Director General of SCOPE Dr U.D. Choubey, Padamshri Dr. K.K. Agarwal ,Editor and Business Head of ZEE News Shri Sudhir Chaudhary and other dignitaries
The POWERGRID Case study on crisis communication was adjudged as the 2nd best paper highlighting the measures for handling and managing one of the worst crisis by Team Corporate Communications in terms of communication management during Grid Failure in July 2012. The Case study emphasized on techniques on how to handle the crises with meticulous planning and major factors that contributed to tackle the crisis .
The Panel of Judges comprising of Mr. S.K. Chaturvedi, Chairman, Jt. Electricity Regulatory Commission & former, CMD, POWERGRID, Ms. Deepak Sandhu, former Principal, DG PIB & former Chief Information Commissioner of India and Mr. Sarthak Behuria, Executive Director, CNG & LPG Adani Group, former CMD, IOCL & former Chairman, SCOPE deliberated on 15th July, 2016 and unanimously decided the Awards based on evaluation of the entries received from PSEs by the SCOPE.
