An event on Empowering the Grid to meet Future Challenges
NEW DELHI . Union Minister of State (IC) for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines, Shri Piyush Goyal presided over an event on ‘Empowering the Grid to meet Future Challenges’, organized by the Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) and Ministry of Power at New Delhi, yesterday.
During the event, Minister released reports on ‘Renewable Energy Integration: Transmission an Enabler’, ‘Green Energy Corridor II’, both prepared by POWERGRID; and ‘Electricity Demand Pattern Analysis’ prepared by POSOCO. Hon’ble Minister also expressed his happiness at POWERGRID reaching Rs.1 lakh crore market capitalization milestone and urged POWERGRID to keep up the good work.
The event was also graced by the presence of MP, Shri Harish Dwivedi. Shri P.K. Pujari, Secretary (Power), GoI addressed the gathering comprising of senior officials from Govt. of India, CPSEs, State Utilities, International Financing agencies, private companies, investors and members from press and media.
Ms. Shalini Prasad, Additional Secretary (Power), GoI, was also present alongwith Smt. Jyoti Arora, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Power, GoI who welcomed the guests and gave a brief outline of the various programmes of the event and their importance in the background.
Shri I.S. Jha, CMD, POWERGRID gave a presentation on the role of transmission as Enabler for Vibrant Electricity Market .A short film on POWERGRID’s journey, technological excellence and its role of enabler was also showcased.
