Merry go round mode for Coal transportation
Singrauli: Merry-Go-Round (MGR) involves a dedicated rail network from coal projects to pit head power plants for transporting coal from coal mines to power plants.
Infrastructure like MGR transports the required coal without disturbing nature and also drastically reduces the transportation cost subsequently reducing the cost of power generation.
NCL dispatches major portion of the coal through this eco-friendly mode. Coal loading silos of Coal Handling Plants (CHP) with Rapid Loading System (RLS) ensures uninterrupted coal feeding for dispatch through MGR to thermal power plants.
