NALCO adds new product to its portfolio
Bhubaneswar: In line with the Make in India Movement, National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), has taken an initiative to produce AA 3105 Alloy (having a composition of Aluminium, Manganese & Magnesium) in its Rolling Plant of Smelter Division to its existing product range. This alloy has wide application in manufacturing of Fan Blades and commands a premium over the existing product range being produced in Rolling Plant. Major customers for this product are manufacturers of fans. Commercial production of the alloy has been started from 24th July 2017.
Congratulating the Nalco Collective for this effort, Dr. Tapan Kumar Chand, CMD of the company said : “With this product, Nalco will be widening its base in value-added products and also be an active partner in the Make in India movement.” He further added that the new value-added product of Nalco will boost downstream units in electrical components and consumption market in Odisha bringing benefit in GST regime.
