NRDC Transferred Four Ocean Technologies Developed by NIOT
New Delhi/Chennai: National Research Development Corporation, (NRDC) and National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), Chennai has jointly signed technology licensing Agreements with Indian industries for manufacturing of various ocean-based products in the presence of Dr. Madhavan Nair Rajeevan, Secretary, Ministry of Earth sciences, Govt of India.
The technologies licensed are Ocean Drifter Buoy with INSAT Communication to M/s Astra Microwave Products Limited, Hyderabad, M/s Azista Induatries Private Limited, Hyderabad, & M/s Norinco Ltd, Mumbai and Wireless Expandable Bathythermograph Conductivity Temperature and Depth Profile System to M/s Azista Induatries Private Limited, Hyderabad.
The agreement was signed by Dr. H.Purushotham, CMD, NRDC and Dr. M A Atmanand, Director, NIOT, Chennai, Dr. Tata Sudhakar, Head Ocean Electronics Group, NIOT Chennai and Shri C. Vinod Kumar, Deputy General Manager, M/s Astra Microwave Products Limited, Hyderabad, Shri V.S.Rajaraman, Vice President, M/s Norinco Ltd, Mumbai & Shri Mukund Modi, Managing Director, M/s Azista Industries Private Limited, Hyderabad other senior officials from both the organisations were present during signing ceremony of the MOA.
Dr. H. Purushotham, CMD, NRDC said these products are imported substitution and aids the Make In India Program of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.
