SECL Honoured with Platinum Award for Environmental Excellence

At the 1st Annual GreenEnviro Environment Award & Summit 2025 held on 19th June 2025, SECL has been conferred with the prestigious Platinum Award for Environmental Excellence in the Metal & Mining Sector by the GreenEnviro Foundation.

This recognition celebrates SECL’s outstanding commitment to sustainable mining and ecological stewardship.

Adding to this proud moment, Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar, Director (Technical - Operations & Project/Planning), has been honoured with the Green Leadership Award for his contribution in integrating sustainability into mining operations.

SECL continues to lead the way in environmental conservation through impactful initiatives such as:

• Adoption of eco-friendly mining technologies such as Surface Miner, Continuous Miner

• Environment-friendly coal dispatch through First Mile Connectivity projects

• Extensive afforestation drives including the adoption of Miyawaki plantation technique

• Fog and Mist Cannons in mining areas for effective dust control

• Mine water treatment and reuse for community and agricultural needs
