The bank has officially appointed Mr. Neeraj Gambhir as an Executive Director and Ms. Malavika R. Neeraj Gambhir: A Finance Powerhouse Joins the Board
Effective October 20, 2025, Mr. Neeraj Gambhir takes on his new role as Executive Director. At 53, Mr. Gambhir is a heavyweight in the Indian financial landscape, boasting a career spanning over three decades. An alumnus of IIM Lucknow with a background in Computer Science, he has previously held high-stakes leadership positions at global institutions like Nomura India, Lehman Brothers, and ICICI Bank.
Beyond his executive duties, Mr. Gambhir will play a crucial role in the bank’s ethical and social governance, serving on both the Stakeholders Relationship Committee and the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee. His appointment is seen as a move to further modernize the bank’s market operations and digital-first financial strategies.
Malavika R. Harita: Bringing Decades of Branding and Mentorship
Starting December 18, 2025, Ms. Malavika R. Harita joins the Board as an Independent Director for a four-year term. With 43 years of rich experience, Ms. Harita is a pioneer in the fields of marketing and communication. As the founder of Saatchi & Saatchi Focus in India, she brings a unique perspective on consumer behavior and brand building to the banking sector.
Currently, she is a dedicated mentor to the next generation of Indian entrepreneurs at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore. Her presence on the Board is expected to provide invaluable independent oversight and strategic guidance as Axis Bank continues to expand its retail and startup banking portfolios.
