Government approves appointment and extensions for major officials of different departments

The Government has approved the proposal for appointment of Shri K. M. Praphullachandra Sharma (IFS:2006), as OSD (JS level), Department of Higher Education from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for a tenure of two years or until further orders, whichever is earlier, by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of OS/Director under the Department of Higher Education to the level of Joint Secretary.

Further, it has approved the proposal of Ministry of Home Affairs for extension in Service of Ms. Idashisha Nongrang, IPS (AM:1992), Director General of Police, Meghalaya, for a period of 6 months beyond 19.05.2026, in relaxation of Rule 16(1) of AIS (DCRB) Rules, 1958, as a special case in public interest.

 Also, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved extension in central deputation tenure of Shri Sunil Kumar Barnwal, IAS (JH:97), Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a period up to 02.12.2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The government also has approved extension in central deputation tenure of Shri Nitesh Kumar Vyas, IAS (MP:96), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs for a period of two years beyond 30.05.2026 i.e. up to 30.05.2028 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
