Government approves re-designation of Shri Amit Kumar (IAS) as Private Secretary to Shri Sarbananda Sonowal
The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the re-designation of the post of Private Secretary (at Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (Shri Sarbananda Sonowal) presently held by Shri Amit Kumar, who is an IAS officer of Bihar cadre of 2012-batch, as Private Secretary (at Director level) to the Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways.
According to the officials, Competent Authority has approved the proposal for re-designation of the post of Private Secretary (at Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (Shri Sarbananda Sonowal) presently held by Shri Amit Kumar, lAS (BH:2012), as Private Secretary (at Director level) to the same Minister as a measure personal to him with effect from 01.01.2026 or from date of assumption of charge of the re-designated post, whichever is later and for a period up to 20.08.2029 or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever occurs the earliest.
The central deputation tenure of Shri Amit Kumar, lAS (BH:2012) is 21.08.2024.
