Shri Shinde Deepak Arjun Re-designated as Private Secretary (Director Level) to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, December 2025: The Government of India has approved the re-designation of the post of Private Secretary (Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister of Road Transport & Highways, currently held by Shri Shinde Deepak Arjun, IAS (AGMUT:2012), elevating it to the Private Secretary (Director level) position.

According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the post has been upgraded as a measure personal to the officer, effective from January 1, 2026, or from the date he assumes charge of the re-designated post, whichever is later.

Shri Shinde will serve in the upgraded role till August 31, 2027, completing the five-year admissible tenure under the Central Staffing Scheme.

His current central deputation in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways began on September 1, 2022.

The order has been conveyed to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and other relevant authorities for necessary action.
