Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), established on July 16, 1970, in Hyderabad, Telangana, is a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. BDL was created to serve as the manufacturing base for guided missile systems and allied equipment for the Indian Armed Forces.
BDL operates multiple manufacturing units located in Kanchanbagh, Hyderabad; Bhanur, Medak district; and Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The company has been closely involved with India’s Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP), which has allowed it to assimilate advanced manufacturing and program management technologies.
BDL has consistently achieved profitability and has been recognized as a Mini Ratna – Category-I Company by the Government of India.
