NTPC Adopts 4 Lions, 3 Royal Bengal Tigers at Lucknow Zoo Under CSR Initiative
Lucknow, February 12, 2026: NTPC Northern Region Headquarters (NRHQ) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Nawab Wajid Ali Shah Zoological Garden, Lucknow, strengthening its commitment to ecological balance and animal welfare under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Under the agreement, NTPC NRHQ will support the adoption of four Lions and three Royal Bengal Tigers, contributing to improved care, nutrition, and habitat management for the animals. Additionally, NTPC will facilitate the installation of two multi-tap water facility systems, enhancing both animal care infrastructure and visitor amenities within the zoo premises.
This initiative builds upon NTPC’s earlier CSR efforts at the zoo, which included animal adoption programs, visitor facility enhancements, and support for essential animal care requirements. The continued partnership underscores NTPC’s commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and sustainable community engagement.
As India’s leading power utility, NTPC has consistently aligned its CSR initiatives with environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and community development, reflecting its broader vision of responsible and inclusive growth.
The renewed collaboration with the Lucknow Zoo further demonstrates NTPC’s focus on ecological stewardship while supporting public awareness and wildlife conservation efforts.
