Shri Shaji John Takes Charge as Director Power of NLCIL
Neyveli: Shri Shaji John, Chief General Manager of NLC India Ltd., has assumed office as the Director (Power) of NLC India Ltd., today (17-04-2019).
Hailing from Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam District of Kerala, Shri Shaji John acquired his mechanical engineering degree at MA College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, affiliated to Kerala University, during the year 1987. He holds a M.Tech degree also in Thermal Engineering from College of Engineering, Anna University, Guindy, Chennai (1991).
He joined as General Manager (O&M) on March 2017 at NLC Tamil Nadu Power Ltd., (NTPL), Thermal Power Station, Thoothukudi, established through a JV Company between NLCIL and TANGEDCO. On 01-04-2018 he was elevated as the CEO of NTPL and was heading the 2 X 500 MW Coal based Thermal Power Station.
Prior to joining in NLCIL, he had worked in NTPC. At NTPC,Shri John started his carrier as Graduate Engineer Trainee during 1989. He has worked in NTPC Badarpur Thermal Power Station, New Delhi and India’s largest Thermal Power Station, 4760 MW NTPC Vindhyachal, in various capacities.
As the head of Boiler Maintenance Division and in charge of Renovation & Modernization Unit at Vindhyachal Thermal Power Station, he was instrumental in operating the Station with higher efficiency.
At Anna University, Chennai his M.Tech thesis bagged 2nd place in the National Level Competition. He has visited USA, Japan and had undergone training from EPRI, Advance Leadership Programme,Efficiency Enhancement of old Thermal Power Station in foreign countries.
