Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has announced a walk-in selection for one-year Apprenticeship Training at its Chennai (Nandambakkam) unit. The apprenticeship is being conducted under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) through the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BoAT), Southern Region. The opportunity is open to Graduate Engineers (B.E./B.Tech), Diploma holders, and non-engineering graduates (B.Com, BBA, BBM) who passed their qualifying examinations during 2021 to 2025.
BEL has notified a total of 84 apprenticeship vacancies across engineering, diploma, and commerce streams. Graduate Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend of ₹17,500, Diploma Apprentices ₹12,500, and Optional Apprentices (B.Com/BBA/BBM) ₹12,500 for the one-year training period. Engineering vacancies are available in Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science, and Civil Engineering, while Diploma vacancies are in ECE and Mechanical Engineering.
To be eligible, candidates must belong to the Southern Region, including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and Puducherry. Applicants should have completed their qualification from an AICTE, UGC, or DOTE-recognised institution on or after 1 April 2021. The upper age limit is 25 years as on 1 January 2026, with applicable age relaxations for SC, ST, OBC, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. A minimum of 60% marks is required for General, OBC, and EWS candidates in engineering and diploma courses, while SC/ST candidates require at least 50%. For B.Com, BBA, and BBM candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are 50%.
Selection will be carried out based on shortlisting using academic performance, followed by verification of documents. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through email, and the final list will be published on the BEL website. Candidates must be registered on the NATS portal and must bring all original documents, including educational certificates, Aadhaar card, caste certificate (if applicable), and NATS registration number at the time of walk-in selection.
BEL has also indicated a career progression opportunity for apprentices who perform well during training. Graduate Apprentices may be considered for short-term engagement as Trainee Engineer-I, while Diploma and Optional Apprentices may be eligible for advanced training through a screening test conducted before completion of apprenticeship.

Diploma apprentices and B.Com/BBA/BBM candidates should report on 5 February 2026, B.E./B.Tech Mechanical and Civil candidates on 6 February 2026, and B.E./B.Tech ECE, EEE, and CSE candidates on 7 February 2026, all at 9:30 AM.
