Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL), a GSPC Group company and a Government of Gujarat undertaking, has appointed Shri Ashwini Kumar, IAS, Principal Secretary, Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat, as an Additional Director on its Board.
The appointment was approved by the Board of Directors and is effective January 27, 2026, the company informed stock exchanges in a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
Government Nominee Appointment
The appointment follows a communication from the Government of Gujarat vide letter EPCD/0454/01/2026 dated January 27, 2026, nominating Shri Ashwini Kumar, IAS as Director on the Board of Gujarat Gas Limited. He has been designated as a Promoter-Nominee Director.
The company also confirmed that Shri Ashwini Kumar is not debarred from holding the office of director by any SEBI order or other regulatory authority.
Profile of Ashwini Kumar, IAS
Shri Ashwini Kumar is a senior IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre with over 29 years of experience in public administration. During his career, he has held a wide range of leadership roles across the Gujarat State administration, including district-level assignments, secretariat policy positions, and senior roles in public sector undertakings and statutory bodies.
His professional experience spans policy formulation, programme implementation, institutional governance, infrastructure development, and public finance management. He has played a key role in the execution of large government projects and in strengthening governance frameworks within public institutions.
Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary to the Energy & Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat. Previously, he has also served as Principal Secretary to the Urban Development & Urban Housing Department, and held additional responsibilities as Principal Secretary for Sports, Art, Culture and Youth Affairs, as well as Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat for over five years.
