HPCL and Oil India Limited Sign MoU for Compressed Bio-Gas Project

Mumbai, January 29, 2026 – Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Oil India Limited (OIL) have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during India Energy Week 2026 to jointly develop a Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) project. This partnership aims to promote cleaner, sustainable energy solutions and support India’s energy transition goals.

Under the agreement, OIL will implement the CBG plant using HPCL’s indigenous HP RAMP technology. HPCL will provide the technology required for the efficient conversion of waste into compressed bio-gas, while OIL will leverage its operational expertise to implement the project successfully.

The collaboration emphasizes the commitment of both public sector undertakings to waste-to-energy initiatives, a circular economy, and reducing carbon emissions.
