Coal India collaborates with NSTFDC to support tribal students
New Delhi: Coal India Limited announced its collaboration with the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC), a CPSE under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, to support the tribal students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) – institutions dedicated exclusively for tribal children.
The initiative aims to enhance digital access by distributing computers and tablets, conduct mentorship programmes to help students make informed career choices and support their mental wellness. It will also promote menstrual hygiene and dignity for girl students by installing sanitary napkin vending machines and incinerators in EMRSs.

An MoU to this effect was signed in New Delhi between CIL and NSTFDC in the presence of Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of Coal & Mines; Shri Jual Oram, Hon’ble Union Minister of Tribal Affairs; Smt. Rupinder Brar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal, Shri Manish Thakur, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs; Shri T. Roumuan Paite, CMD, NSTFDC; CIL Director (HR) Dr. Vinay Ranjan; and senior officials from the Ministry of Coal, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and Coal India.
