DMRC Signs Contract with Alstom for Red and Yellow Lines
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has taken a significant step to enhance the reliability and performance of its oldest and busiest lines, the Red Line (Line-1) and Yellow Line (Line-2), by signing a contract with Alstom Transport India Limited (ATIL). These lines, operational since 2002 and 2004 respectively, currently use Distance To Go (DTG) technology for signalling.
The agreement was signed by Shri Manuj Singhal, Director Infrastructure of DMRC, and Shri Sachin Deora, Director Commercial of ATIL, in the presence of Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director of DMRC, along with other officials from DMRC and ATIL at Metro Bhawan. This initiative underscores DMRC’s commitment to maintaining high standards of service and operational efficiency on its critical metro lines.

The contract agreement between DMRC and ATIL spans 6 years, with an option to extend it by a further 2 years. This partnership focuses on ensuring the availability of adequate onboard spares for the signalling systems and upgrading of existing data logging facility for better root cause analysis of failures.

The primary objective of this collaboration is to improve availability, reliability, and overall performance of the system through continuous technical support from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experts.
