New Delhi: The Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) and Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding on 14th October 2025.

The project is existing and upcoming terminals and berths at JN Port. The company will establish and initiate willingness and cooperation between the parties for exploring collaboration in infrastructure development, financing and refinancing of port infrastructure, including five container terminals, a general cargo berth and liquid berth and related port-led infrastructure projects at JN Port.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5,000 crores, and it will commence in 2025-2026. It is said that "The purpose of this MOU is to establish and initiate cooperation between the Parties to explore mutually beneficial opportunities related to project financing for port development and allied infrastructure. This MoU serves as a nonbinding framework for future collaboration, subject to mutual discussions and execution of definitive agreements as required.

This MoU shall not be deemed to constitute a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between the Parties, nor shall it create any binding financial or legal obligations. Neither Party shall have any authority to bind the other in any manner whatsoever.
