SECI and DRDO Partner for 250 MW Solar Power Project to Support Energy Neutrality
SECI and DRDO have signed an MoU to promote renewable energy and support energy neutrality. A 100 MW solar plant at Chitradurga will power DRDO labs at concessional rates.

An MoU has been signed between the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and DRDO as part of the National Solar Mission. This effort aims to achieve energy neutrality and Net Zero Carbon goals. The plan is to generate 250 MW of solar power, making DRDO a Green Organisation.

As part of this initiative, a land use agreement has been signed to transfer 402 acres of land at the Aeronautical Test Range in Chitradurga, Karnataka, to SECI. This land will support the generation of 100 MW of solar power for DRDO labs across the country at reduced rates.
