Cabinet approved Temporary Upgradation of Deputy Chairperson at Tea Board India
Government appoints Shri C. Murugan, IAS as Deputy Chairperson, Tea Board, Kolkata on deputation basis under Department of Commerce.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Temporary Upgradation of the post of Deputy Chairperson, Tea Board, Kolkata under Department of Commerce from OS/Director level to Joint Secretary level (Level 14 of Pay Matrix) for an initial period of two years.
With this, Shri C. Murugan, IAS, (WB:2007) has been appointed to the such upgraded post of Deputy Chairperson, Tea Board, Kolkata (at JS level under Level-14 of pay matrix) under Department of Commerce for an initial period of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

He is an IAS officer of 2007 batch from West Bengal cadre and will serve as Deputy Chairperson for two years.
The Tea Board of India is a statutory body established under the Tea Act, 1953 by the Government of India. The Board plays a crucial role in promoting and regulating the tea industry in India, one of the largest tea producers and exporters in the world.
