The Union Cabinet has approved the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for copra for the 2026 season, providing higher price assurance to coconut growers across the country.

For the 2026 season, the MSP for Fair Average Quality (FAQ) milling copra has been fixed at ₹12,027 per quintal, while the MSP for ball copra has been set at ₹12,500 per quintal. Compared to the previous season, the MSP has increased by ₹445 per quintal for milling copra and ₹400 per quintal for ball copra.

The MSP for milling copra has risen significantly from ₹5,250 per quintal in the 2014 marketing season, registering a growth of 129% over the years. Similarly, the MSP for ball copra has increased by 127% compared to its level in the 2014 marketing season.

The government said the revised MSP is aimed at ensuring better income support to coconut farmers and encouraging higher production to meet the growing domestic as well as international demand for coconut-based products.
