PESB Recommends S. Sakthimani as Next CMD of FACT

New Delhi, October 3, 2025 — The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Shri S. Sakthimani for the prestigious post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of The Fertilisers And Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT).

The decision was made during the PESB meeting (Minute No. 1 of Meeting No. 86/2025) held on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Shri Sakthimani is currently serving as the Director (Finance) within FACT, positioning him as the successful in-house candidate to lead the Schedule 'A' Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE).

Selection Process Details

The selection process saw four candidates interviewed by the PESB selection panel.

The candidates who appeared before the board were:

• Shri S. Sakthimani (Director (Finance), The Fertilisers And Chemicals Travancore Limited)

• Shri Satyender Rai (Executive Director (Digital Transformation), NMDC Limited)

• Shri Abhijit Chakraborty (Executive Director (Project), Indian Oil Corporation Limited)

• Dr. Ajit Kumar Thakur (Executive Director (Alternate Energy), Indian Oil Corporation Limited)

The recommendation of Shri Sakthimani's name will now be forwarded for approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), which is the final step for his formal appointment as the Chief Executive of the company
