40 Management Trainees visit Moonidih Project of BCCL
The MTs witnessed an underground coal mine with fully mechanised self advancing Power Support Longwall Technology mining system at the Moonidih project.
New Delhhi: Forty Management Trainees (MTs) undergoing the Induction Training Program at Indian Institute of Coal Management, Ranchi visited the Moonidih project of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd.
The MTs witnessed an underground coal mine with fully mechanised self advancing Power Support Longwall Technology mining system at the Moonidih project.
This project is the only coal-producing unit in the Moonidih coal block. The Mine has been developed through a pair of sharfts 545m and 560m in depth (one of the deep coal mines in India), with high capacity koepe winders. Horizons mining system has been adopted and the coal seams have been accessed in three different horizons.
The coal evacuation from ace to pit bottom is through a series of conveyor belts and then to the surface through a pair of skips having 10T capacity each.
